On March 9, 2009 Summit Entertainment confirmed that 15 year- old Dakota Fanning will be starring opposite of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner in ‘New Moon’. Dakota will bee portraying the role of Jane– the sadistic vampire of the Volturi who power is to inflict pain on anyone with her mind to make them believe they are in excruciating pain. Jane is the twin of Volturi’s Alec. During and interview, Dakota said “I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part.” Filming is due to begin at the end of March in Vancouver with the movie scheduled to be released on November 20, 2009. Dakota will most likely take part in more of the Italy scenes.
I don’t know about Dakota Fanning for the role of Jane, but I won’t really know until I see the movie when it comes out. When I first heard that Dakota Fanning will be playing the role of Jane, I was really angry because I can’t see someone like Dakota playing a serious evil vampire.
